Nowhere in Kos do you receive so much for so little. Afendoulis offers the magical combination of convenience and calm. This long-established family place, and the Zikas family spare nothing to create within their walls a very special holiday community.
FrommersCompany Name
Large, aircon, balconied, en-suite rooms include a few family quads, but what guarantees a loyal, repeat clientele is the way Alexis Zikas, brother Ippokrates and wife Dionysia really look after their guests.
The Rough Guide to The Greek IslandsCompany Name
Peaceful Afendoulis has unfailingly friendly staff and sparkling rooms with adobe white walls, small balconies, flat-screen TV, hairdryer, and spotless en suite. Downstairs there's an open breafast room and flowery terrace with wrought iron tables and chairs. Breakfast is a feast of homemade jams and marmalades. Like stepping into the pages of a Durrell novel, once you've visited you'll be a returning character. There may be more modern, plusher hotels in Kos but none with the special soul of this fine, family-run establishment.

mcrj_112024-07-08Cheap and cheerful A very cheap and cheerful place in the heart of Kos town. There are few thrills but if you’re in transit this is a good place. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. WiFi is good and so is breakfast. It is well located and the service is very good. I wouldn’t stay here for an extended time but if you’re passing though it’s a good option.Osvaldo2024-06-25Tutto come sempre perfetto ! Jonathan F2024-05-27Just book it! Joanna and Tracy are just back from 8 nights at this fabulous family hotel. Dimitris had arranged our luxurious transport from the airport and welcomed us with a warm smile at 1130PM and we immediately felt at home. The hotel is really close to the beach and the town centre but in a quiet residential area. Rooms are comfortable and clean (some recently refurbished) with cosy beds, good en suite showers and quiet efficient AC. The service from the family was amazing, including fresh home cooked breakfasts served to order until 12 midday. Beautifully run family hotel, authentically Greek with delicious simple breakfasts with homemade jams to die for. Very helpful staff, Dimitri was always willing to answer questions and give great recommendations. I felt sorry for people staying anywhere else 😁jenaraz2023-10-06A wonderful family run hotel in Kos with 5 star customer service As soon as you step into this hotel, you just get a sense of peace and welcoming. The indoor and outdoor dining area is wonderful and the customer service is superb. I am so very glad I stayed here Dimitri was so helpful during my stay, the breakfasts are delicious with at the time I visited 7 home made jams made with produce from their garden. The location is great and handy to central Kos, beaches and restaurants. Rooms are basic but are clean and comfortable and many have balconies and you cannot beat the price. Very highly recommend.Jan M2023-09-12Hotel Afendoulis is one experience not to be missed when travelling in Greece Having read many reviews about the hotel we were intrigued and booked to stay one week....a fantastic decision! The wonderful staff Alexi Dimitis Sandy are fully committed to providing a memorable experience with the warmth of home and the joy of delicious breakfasts which included home made jams delicious coffee and completed with slices of banana and pineapple cake...which has to be tried to appreciate. Nothing is an imposition to the staff in Hotel Afendoulis...they offer help for any situation and as expected have contacts dotted all over Kos. I said four words to Dimitris on leaving...'we will be back!'Osvaldo2023-09-11Grande Sempre un posto molto accogliente ,circondato da gelsomini frangipani e altri fiori. Posto tranquillo ma vicino al centro , colazioni impagabili con le marmellate di tutti i gusti fatte in casa da Dionisia . Tutta la famiglia Zikas è garanzia di ospitalità e gentilezza. It felt like we were invited into, and became a part of their family. No words can describe this. Modest, but very clean and comfortable rooms with scenic balconies. Wonderful breakfast. 10-minute walking distance from the old town, yet the vicinity is very calm and soothing. Far from the hustşe for a relaxed stay, still, close enough for convenience. Very reasonable prices. We'll never forget this stay and can't wait to come back. Thank you a million times beautiful people :)
