Few words about us

The hotel has 20 rooms, all accessed by elevator and are all equipped with private bathroom, satellite tv ,telephone, refrigerator, air-conditioning, fan, hairdryer, safety box and free WiFi access. Most rooms also have a balcony, with several offering a delightful sea-view. One family room is also available. Our jasmin-scented garden, canopied by bougainvilla, offers a cool and relaxing oasis where you can breakfast or wind down after a day's sun and fun.

Like stepping into the pages of a Durrell novel, once you've visited you'll be a returning character. There may be more modern, plusher hotels in Kos but none with the special soul of this fine, family-run establishment.

  A wonderful family run hotel in Kos with 5 star customer service
As soon as you step into this hotel, you just get a sense of peace and welcoming. The indoor and outdoor dining area is wonderful and the customer service is superb. I am so very glad I stayed here Dimitri was so helpful during my stay, the breakfasts are delicious with at the time I visited 7 home made jams made with produce from their garden. The location is great and handy to central Kos, beaches and restaurants. Rooms are basic but are clean and comfortable and many have balconies and you cannot beat the price.   Hotel Afendoulis is one experience not to be missed when travelling in Greece
Having read many reviews about the hotel we were intrigued and booked to stay one week....a fantastic decision! The wonderful staff Alexi Dimitis Sandy are fully committed to providing a memorable experience with the warmth of home and the joy of delicious breakfasts which included home made jams delicious coffee and completed with slices of banana and pineapple cake...which has to be tried to appreciate. Nothing is an imposition to the staff in Hotel Afendoulis...they offer help for any situation and as expected have contacts dotted all over Kos.   Can'Wait to Come Back
Came to this place upon a friend's suggestion and loved everything about it. The owners must be the nicest people in this world. It felt like we were invited into, and became a part of their family. No words can describe this. Modest, but very clean and comfortable rooms with scenic balconies. Wonderful breakfast. 10-minute walking distance from the old town, yet the vicinity is very calm and soothing. Far from the hustşe for a relaxed stay, still, close enough for convenience. Very reasonable prices. We'll never forget this stay and can't wait to come back. Thank you a million times beautiful people :)

  Lovely hotel owned and run by a really nice family, with a great location in Kos
The hotel is located in a really central area of Kos, but on a quiet street with many neighbouring good restaurants. The rooms are very clean. A special bonus for the absolutely delicious breakfast with local and homemade foods, served in the lovely garden. Finally the service was impeccable, the entire family is really kind and always ready to help. We liked our stay so much that we decided to come back after spending a couple of days in Leros.They even came to pick us up from the port when we came back from Leros. Overall, a perfect holiday.   A perfect experience at Hotel Afendoulis!
One of the warmest welcomes I have ever had. Alexis and his wonderful family made us feel at home as soon as we walked in. A great location, quiet and yet within moments of great restaurants and the sea. Spotlessly clean and a good shower. Rooms are cleaned every day. The breakfast is so good. Home made cake, jams, marmalades, yogurt and omelette...all delicious. They also have an honesty bar....where do you find that these days?!! Great value, kind people and lots of local advice. That personal touch that you just cannot find in the bigger hotels. I cant recommend enough. Thank you so so much for our perfect stay. See you next year!

We decided to make a last minute visit to Kos. Finding a room was very difficult but Mr. Alexis and Dimitry were very helpful in creating a room for us. The hotel was cozy and clean. They were also very friendly and guided us in discovering the island

Fabulous place - Friendly, convenient and just lovely. In a great spot - we really enjoyed our stay here - there’s a restaurant ext door and two more within 100 metres. And, 20 mins walk along the coast to paradise beach. All in all we loved it! Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

  What a fantastic hotel
Stayed for 8 days can’t Xpress, the service that I received from Dimitris and his family. The room was fantastic had everything that you needed, rooms were serviced everyday and breakfast was amazing. I would recommend this hotel as it is walking distance to everything.

  Meer dan geweldig!
Samen met mijn vriend ben ik nu voor de 3e keer in Griekenland geweest voor een rondreis langs diverse Griekse eilanden. Jaarlijks begint onze reis op Kos, bij Hotel Afendoulis. Een fantastisch schattig, idyllisch klein hotel met de meest vriendelijke mensen en heerlijke relaxte sfeer. Alexis is de eigenaar van dit hotel, en runt dit al jaren samen met zijn familie. Zijn vrouw maakt ‘sochtends het meest heerlijke verse ontbijt, met de lekkerste versgebakken cake ever. En ook zijn dochter werkt regelmatig in het hotel. Zijn schoonzoon; Dimitri werkt dagelijks in het hotel als host en is zo’n ontzettend lieve, zachtaardige, vrolijke man. Iedereen spreek heel goed Engels en je merkt dat ze echt met heel veel plezier en passie werken om je echt een geweldig verblijf op Kos te geven. Alexis weet werkelijk alles over Kos, over de boten die gaan, over de beste leukste restaurants en standen. Hij neemt bij aankomst altijd alle tijd om je de hot-spots te vertellen! Bij Afendoulis heb je echt nog het oude Griekse gevoel, en het is absoluut geen toeristische trekpleister. De kamers worden iedere dag schoongemaakt door een heel lief Grieks vrouwtje, wat hier ook al 30+ jaren werkt. Wanneer je wat wil drinken, kan je dit zelf uit de koelkast pakken, en opschrijven bij je kamernummer op een blaadje. Hoe leuk is dat?
